The minutes of the previous meeting were read and proposed as a true record of that meeting by D.Macbeth, seconded by C.Bates and carried unanimously.

Matters arising - The delivery of manure will be made this coming weekend, weather permitting. There is doubt about the purchase of soil conditioner as it is now very expensive and not easy to obtain. The Burnham Institute has confirmed that Tuesday 4th November is available for our AGM. There will be a bar and some food.

Any other business - The secretary read out letters from Mrs.Kingsbury and Mr.Bond both who have given up their plots. New tenants will be allocated as soon as possible.

Plots 6A and 37A have both been worked on and are now in a satisfactory condition. The grounds sub committee report that at the moment most plots and in good order. Plot 21B has also been brought to a satisfactory condition. The secretary was asked to ring Mrs.J.Libretto to discuss her plot.

Bonfires can be lit every Friday evening after 6pm from this coming Friday 11th October. The hosepipes will be brought in for the winter during the next two weeks. Thanks were offered to Mr.D.Rands for the chairs he supplied to the association. The chairman brought up the possible purchase of a flame gun to counter act weeds but there was not much support for this.

The chairman also suggested that we might have an association website. The cost would be around £3 per month for 50 pages and the general opinion was favourable. After some discussion Mrs.L.Rands proposed that a website be set up. This was seconded by Mrs.C.Bates and the voting was unanimously in favour. The title would be Burnham on Sea Allotments. Mr.D. Parsons will organise the site.

The Sid Lane cup presented by Tim Lane in memory of his father. That it be given annually to the winner of the best kept plot competition was proposed by R Burt, seconded by P Lawrence. The voting was unanimously in favour.

It was thought that a better variety of potato for next years competition be sought preferable one that is blight resistant.

The secretary was requested to ask Mr.P. Burks of Sanders Garden World if he would give us his list of priorities for judging the plots.

The next meeting will be Tuesday 2nd December 2008.

There being no further business the meeting closed at 2018 hours.
