Welcome to Burnham-on- Sea Allotments

 Coronavirus (Covid-19) Update (25th March)

As far as I am concerned, the Allotments will stay open during this difficult and frightening period. On that note though, I will stress that ALL tenants will respect the “personal space” of other tenants and stay at least 3 metres away from each other at all times on the plots. YOU will make a conscious effort to avoid others by detouring round other tenants as there are plenty of paths to take.

Tenants will be reminded once, asked to leave site on the second occasion, and have their tenancy terminated on the third occasion of being asked to leave space.

Only tenants and those who live with the tenant will be allowed on site and children will be restricted to your plot and not permitted to wander all over site.

The Government says we can go out for exercise once a day and Allotments are a permitted exercise area. It doesn’t say how long we can exercise for, so plan your day and make sure you have all you need for the day. Do not come and go all day long.

The Allotment site is not for “self-isolators” but for tenants to still enjoy the benefits and pleasure of allotmenting. Please do not spoil it for others. Things/life is not going to get better for a while to come, so please obey these rules. I know they might sound a bit draconian but it is for everybody’s benefit and good health.

Please play by the rules so we can keep the Allotments open for all.

Keep Safe             Dave Parsons (Chairman)

Coronavirus (Covid-19) Update

Due to the on-going Covid-19 pandemic, the committee meeting scheduled for 7thApril has been cancelled.

The allotments will remain open as usual during this difficult time as by the nature of the activity, it is possible to remain isolated on your plot and it provides an opportunity to enjoy the fresh air & associated benefits.  We do ask however, that all plot holders & visitors are respectful of other peoples 'personal space' & maintain at least a 2 metres distance from each other during this time.

We will of course comply with any restrictions imposed upon us by the Government & will issue changes to the above as & when appropriate.

We have also rescheduled the plot inspection for Sunday 26th April 2020 due to the exceptional wet weather we have had over recent weeks.

Welcome to Burnham on Sea Allotments. This is the official site of Burnham on Sea Allotments Tenants Association. We, (our Committee), manage the allotment site at Burnham on Sea ourselves. Find us

We have 89 various size plots currently being cultivated, with an approx 2 year waiting list. If you wish to apply for a plot, please supply your address and telephone number using the 'Contact us' form and a member of the committee will get in contact with you. Unfortunately, we do not accept applications from the Highbridge area as the Highbridge Town Council have their own allotments.

The Plot Holder Forum pages are password protected. The password was given on the newsletter dated January 2020. If you need help to access the forum please use the contact form and a member of the committee will assist you.
